CASS aims for a 6-year program to implement our science program

A new two-arm fiber-fed spectrograph will be attached to the 80 cm Schmidt telescope which will allow two observing modes in the spectral range 360-880nm with resolution 2400-4300:

Wide-field Integral Field Spectroscopy (IFU mode): f.o.v. 6' x 6', 8.6" fiber aperture
Multi-Object Spectroscopy (MOS mode): 200 fibres - each of 8.6" - robotically placed over a f.o.v. of 50 sq. deg.

First light at the telescope is foreseen for autumn 2020. More info on the Project Management and Builders involved can be found in the Chart below.
